Elyana Zawaideh
Educator
My name is Elyana Zawaideh. I have been an IDU BQC Reviewer since 2017, a certified Concept-Based Trainer and Presenter since 2020, and the MYP Programme Leader since 2023. My extensive experience includes teaching the English language in both the PYP and MYP, as well as leading teams to achieve their full potential through various roles, including primary teacher, team leader, middle school leader, and subject coordinator. In addition, I have served as a Global Schools Advocate for my country and currently mentor new advocates. This role has deepened my understanding of sustainable development and the critical role education plays in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). My diverse experiences have provided me with rich, challenging learning opportunities, enhancing my ability to connect educational experiences with real-life situations and the broader education system. As educators, we have a vital responsibility to prepare our students, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and understandings needed to be effective global citizens. By fostering a sense of responsibility for their actions and those of others, we can enhance the quality of life for everyone and contribute to a sustainable future.
